Our Child ID Events provide FREE child
fingerprinting, photographs, and DNA sample kits. These events are free to the
public regardless of where your vehicle was purchased. We take fingerprints, photographs & a DNA sample based on
recommendations by Maryland State Police, Montgomery County Police AND The
National
Center for Exploited
& Missing Children.. Our volunteers are trained in fingerprinting
by the Maryland State Police.
We follow guidelines set-forth by the Maryland State &
Montgomery County Police for fingerprinting, DNA samples & photos including
the following recommendations:
* Photography: Children under age 5 should
have a new photo taken every 6 months, children over 5, yearly.
* DNA Sampling Method 1: For very young
children, or children with short hair, swab the inside of the mouth with a
Q-TIP®
* DNA Sampling Method 2: Take 4-5 hair
samples that include follicles and root intact.
