ROCKVILLE, MD (April 27, 2015) Fitzgerald Auto Malls presented Joseph Gannon Jr. with a one-year lease for a Hyundai Sonata. Gannon was the 2015-2016 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher of the Year. The presentation was made at the 13
th annual
Champions for Children Awards celebration, hosted last week by the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE).
Gannon is a veteran social studies teacher who has spent nearly two decades of his career at Damascus High School, where he started the AP World History program, created the Student Travel program and led 14 student trips abroad. He has worked for MCPS for 27 years and will now compete for Maryland Teacher of the Year.
“Congratulations to Mr. Joseph Gannon on being named MCPS Teacher of the Year,” said Dottie Fitzgerald, Vice President of Fitzgerald Auto Malls, “We are fortunate to have him as a leader and educator in our classrooms and as a member of the community.”
