NORTH BETHESDA, MD – May 2, 2014    Fitzgerald Auto Malls presented Jane Lindsay with a one-year lease for a 2014 Hyundai Sonata.  Mrs. Lindsay is the winner of the 2014-2015 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher of the Year. The 12th Annual Champions for Children awards celebration was hosted by the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE).  
 
“We are so thrilled to have the opportunity to congratulate Jane Lindsay for the commitment and enthusiasm she brings to the classroom,” said Dottie Fitzgerald, Vice President of Fitzgerald Auto Malls, “She is a truly inspiring leader to the community.”
 
Mrs. Lindsay, an eighth-grade English and reading teacher, who also serves as the department head, has taught at John Poole Middle School for the past five years. She was selected by MCBRE as one of the top finalists for MCPS Teacher of the Year, alongside Kathryn Hageman, a fifth-grade teacher at Diamond Elementary School and Aaron Shin, an eighth-grade teacher at Parkland Middle School.
 
The Champions for Children awards program was founded by MCBRE as a way to honor the commitments of distinguished educators, MCPS staff,and organizations in the community that demonstrate a high regard for youth education and a passion for reaching each and every student.

DOTTIE FITZGERALD RECEIVES AWARD FROM WASHINGTON ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE
 
 
NORTH BETHESDA, MD – May 8, 2014    Dottie Fitzgerald will be honored with a Centennial Award at the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL) Centennial Gala this Saturday, May 10th, in recognition of her years as an animal advocate.  The event will celebrate WARL’s 100 years of saving lives.
 
“I am honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Dottie Fitzgerald, Vice President of Fitzgerald Auto Mall, “I have the greatest respect for the board, CEO Bob Ramin, the staff of WARL and their phenomenal group of volunteers.  I share this award with WARL staff, volunteers and the many champions of rescue.”
 
Fitzgerald Auto Mall is proud of their partnership with the Washington Animal Rescue League.  The dealerships continue to hold regular pet adoption events at their locations throughout the DC metropolitan area.  In addition they welcome food and supply donations at their locations at any time.

SIGNAGE FOR POLITICAL CANDIDATES

KENSINGTON, MD - APRIL 28, 2014 -
Upon request, as per every election year, Fitzgerald Auto Malls announces the longstanding policy, which will allow political candidate signs on Fitzgerald properties.

Candidates who have chosen to subject themselves to the public scrutiny by running for elected office will be permitted to place signs on Fitzgerald properties, where available and within reason, subject to the local ordinances on political signs.  All candidates are welcome.

Fitzgerald grants the use of property as a benefit to the community to identify those candidates running for public office.  The signage posted is allowed specifically for the political candidate to increase awareness in our community and does not represent beliefs or causes supported by Fitzgerald Auto Mall or its associates.

42 Percent Higher Than the National Average for Businesses
 
NORTH BETHESDA, MD – APRIL 21, 2014   Fitzgerald Auto Malls recycled over 80 percent of all solid waste generated at Fitzgerald dealerships, 42 percent higher than the national average for businesses. In Montgomery County, MD, Fitzgerald has continued to consistently exceed the 50 percent recycling requirement. As a result, Fitzgerald diverted 2,646 tons of waste from the landfill.
 
Fitzgerald Auto Malls is the first automotive dealership group in North America to become ISO 14001 certified, the highest recognition available for quality management with a focus on the environment; a distinction that sets them apart from all other dealers.
